Familiy Partners Volunteer Training

Family Partners training is an 8 hour intensive training to prepare volunteers for interfacing on a personal level with individuals and families in need. Most often volunteers have a desire to work on a one-on-one level; however they may lack the skills and/or the confidence to take the first step. Family Partners training focuses on interpersonal skill building, understanding non verbal cues and gestures, identifying barriers to communication, understanding poverty values, learning about the emotional and psychological effects on individuals andfamilies in crisis, understanding what it means to be culturally competent, and finding opportunities to serve in a volunteer capacity.
