Project Unity has created an innovative cost effective, efficient system for helping families break the cycle of help as well as the cycle of poverty. Funding provided by the Verizon Foundation and Texas A&M University’s School of Rural Public Health has made it possible for Project Unity staff located within ten office locations in seven counties to utilize a web-based client data tracking system. The system has many capabilities. Assessments including demographic data and case actions are realized with a touch of a button. Families no longer have to tell their stories over and over again to get help because Project Unity staff access their information on a daily basis. Supervision is implemented from a central location with the supervisor utilizing the web based system for oversight of Project Unity staff that enters data on a daily basis after providing the service.
